There is no reason on this planet being 18 games under

.500 to play Semien. No doubt that Semien will most likely not survive the offseason.

The outfield going forward should be Ewing in LF, Robert in CF and Benge in RF. The loss of Soto is a huge blow to the offense but a plus for outfield defense. Taylor remains the 4th outfielder and I think he will be gone at the deadline. Nice backup but let’s not confuse his hot run with being someone who should get lots of playing time. Soto can DH when he gets back filling the black hole of crappy DH candidates and someone who will play against all pitchers. Also, if Robert starts stinging the ball in the next week, he is also a great trade target for a pennant contender and it would cost $2 million for the new team to dump him after the season and a $20 million contract to keep a potential starting CF does not seem unreasonable. Maybe Polanco can injure himself again and just stay on the IL. That way the team collects insurance money and opens up a roster spot.
