If only we could have had the pitcher that Manaea is right now once he came back from the IL last year - things would be a lot different.
We all know that Manaea's arm strength wasn't there, both in Spring Training and early in the year. After eight appearances out of the pen, he had a 6.85 ERA. Since then, Manaea has a 3.55 ERA in 88.2 IP. He hit 95 mph in Saturday's game.
So long as he's healthy, he should be included in the club's rotation for next year.
Consistency from your veterans is what makes a team successful. They calm the waters and make everyone calmer. Manaea has been able to successfully achieve that role. He was worked hard to get back to where he was two years ago and deserves credit for that.

Looks like Manaea is doing a reverse Peterson from last year.
