Very entertaining conversation. Let’s say it like it is: Syracuse has been a trip up for Mets prospects for a few years. I think it’s time to overhaul that staff, especially on the pitching side. Promote Binghamton, reassign Chad Krueger, but there seems to be something wrong there, and has been for a while. If it’s an offensive park, how do the hitters not hit? If it’s the ball, how do the other teams’ prospects handle it? Time to see the obvious.
I think SYR is not hitting this year because this crop of players just isn't good. When they had better hitters in 2024, they were 3rd in the 20-team league in runs per game. And that's with Acuna putting up a .654 OPS from the top of the order.
David and thanks for keeping us up on the baby Mets. I too believe that any player in the minors who is currently blocked by a Mets long-term contract at the major league level should be packaged in a deal. Also, for the right player, they can move some of our prospects, or for that matter, break the long jam of the group of players on the MLB roster who can’t figure out how to field and hit in the same games.

Thanks for listening, Gus!
