Juan Soto delivered an RBI single to drive in the zombie runner in the top of the 10th and Huascar Brazoban nailed down the save, as the Mets claimed a 7-6 come-from-behind win Tuesday night in Baltimore.
Just because something has happened previously doesn’t make it the most likely outcome. If each time a pitcher enters a game with an ERA above 7.00 and someone offers you a bet that the guy will throw five shutout innings - my sincere hope is that you take the bet. If it happens 100 times, how often do you think the pitcher throws 5 shutout innings? It’s certainly in single digits and likely under five.
i guess the question is did the mets bats make him look good or did he pitch really well. i think it was the latter. there have been plenty of times over the past month where it was the former.
Gut Reaction: It an exhilarating, come from behind win that resulted in a first place tie with the Phillies. The front of the lineup can to damage very quickly. Now Mauricio, Baty, Winker and McNeil are above 700 OPS so now they have a deep lineup. I was surprised Diaz didn't pitch the 10th because it was only an one run. Braz0 was clutch when he stranded the ghost runner.
If only Pete will accept money in the neighborhood of Olson and Freeman! Make the deal Boros during the break next week! Driving Cohen crazy in the off season says I before we!!!!
Great comeback win and I managed to catch the last two innings on my iPad. Lots of offense from the top four in the order with great offense from two of the last three and great relief pitching. Nice job by Holmes until that sixth inning. Kind of wonder if he is starting to face an innings limit or perhaps they just figure him out third time through the order.
Great win by the Giants against the Phillies with a three run inside the park home run to push the Mets into a tie for the division lead. Love a series win tonight. And if course a sweep tomorrow.
I thought the Orioles pitxher was pretty sharp through 5. Not at all underwhelming.
Excellent comeback win. The kind of game they were getting blown out of a week ago. Had a very 2024 vibe to it.
Pete is 5 away from Straw and maybe he ll do it before my alaska cruise on the 22nd. Come on Pete!
The guy came into the game with a 7.02 ERA
he's a rookie isn't he? he certainly pitched better than that ERA would suggest. happens all the time.
