Nice job Charlie. A lot better than the Mets bats were swinging. A lack of timely hitting bit the Mets again when it looked like they could get right back into it with a couple of knocks. Canning to stop the losing streak today. DVR ready to go. Big win for the Knicks who crushed the Celtics to everyone’s surprise.

The Phillies are creeping closer. Looking forward to Manaea replacing Megill.

Megill should be first man out. He’s frustrating to watch. Let Blackburn take his next start and see what happens. What a disappointment to see Marte and Acuna both in the lineup. Combined with how Taylor is going, that’s three dead ABs. I get the platoon, but I’d rather seen McNeil and Baty at DH/2B in whatever combination. In any case, if you’re committed to the R vs L concept, why not flip the lineup when the righty reliever comes in? The Mets are playing flat but Mendy has made some questionable non-moves in the last two games. A Pyrrhic victory? Forcing Weaver into the game.

Gut Reaction: I was going to post comment about McNeil and Baty should play against LHP to replace two of the three dead bats in the lineup. AgingBull beat me to it.

Much rather have McNeil and Baty than Siri and Winker. Id get rid of both of them when they come back.

As for Blackburn, it seems that he had an odd but underwhelming outing for BNG yesterday. 4.1 IP, 5R, 3ER, but only 1H (+3 BBs.). 7K and a dinger. Courtesy of JohnFromAlbany’s post.

In six starts in March/April this year, Megill had a 1.74 ERA

In three starts in May, he has an 8.76 ERA

Coming into this year, Megill was 7-2 with a 2.84 ERA in March/April but in May he was 2-5 with a 5.66 mark.

It's good to have things you can count on in life.
