Great win. Just what was needed, a tough split before Pittsburgh. Bats looked better. Nunez looked like last year. Alonso ready to bust out. Awful about Canning but I am hoping we see one of Sproat, McLean, or Tong for a spot start or three.

Tidwell is on the 40-man roster, so he's the guy we'll keep seeing.....

Kudos to Mets for bouncing back and gaining a split. Very important to weather the storm and psychologically to regain first place. When Uncle Steve said he was modeling the team after the Dodgers, I didn’t realize he was referring to pitching injuries.

So great to split the series after losing the first two games. And thanks to the Phillies for getting swept to put the Mets back in first place. The win also helped hammer the Braves deeper in the standings. Terrible about Canning so now we’ll see how smart Stearns can be handling who to bring up. I too would like to see McLean, who does sound like a McDonald’s meal, come up and get a start with the big club. Kudos to the release staff for stepping up and shutting down and completing a shut out. Onto Pittsburgh, where we will not face their ace and time to put a hurting on the Bucs.

Really feel for canning. And Ron Darling taking about pitcher injuries and how quickly it can all end was truly emotional. It ll likely be Tidwell to replace but it really ought be Mclean.
