Lots of good stuff but your writeup about Benge and Gilbert is identical to my thinking and ranking as I have one right after the other. My only concern is Benge needs to learn how to pull the ball with authority and Gilbert has mastered that already. Don’t know how long an ACL takes to heal, but Mauricio is the only prospect we don’t have any news for. I mean, even Robert Dominguez is finally pitching!!!

Serano seems to have the tools but never had the results. Hoping that changes…

Just waiting on Elian Peña to report.

Dominguez did pitch... but... welll... not well.

Mauricio was expected back already so we're in delay time. I'm hopeful we'll see him by May.

LOL, didn’t he throw like 13 balls and five strikes?

And.... Dominguez was just released within the last day or two. Mauricio was supposed to start in FCL yesterday or today.

Serrano was a draft-eligible sophomore selected after just two collegiate season. He's shown some good OBP skills and the question is if the big guy can develop power to go along with that. If he stayed in college and did show more power, he would have been a hotter draft prospect. I'm curious to see what happens but it might take a year, as Brooklyn isn't known for helping LHB to post big SLG marks.

Brian, I don’t know if you saw it, but in an interview he gave, he said the Mets asked him post draft why he thinks he fell to them. He told them that he hits too many ground balls. They said, ‘yup! Let’s fix that.’

As always David, thanks for a in-depth glimpse into the Mets future. Thinking that Gilbert might get a shot at some CF time with Siri on the IL.

Problem is timing and injury implications. If Gilbert was putting these numbers up in AAA already and hadn't started the season in the IL it would make sense for him to see time in the majors with Siri being hurt. With Gilbert being a lefty and with the Mets having few bench lefty options he makes sense but the Mets still hope Gilbert is more than just a bench player.
